XML7C MCB Circuit Breaker Iron Core
An MCB or miniature circuit breaker is an automatically operated electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by excess current, typically resulting from an overload or short circuit. Its basic function is to interrupt current flow after a fault is detected.
It is an electromagnetic device that embodies a complete enclosure in a molded insulating material. The main function of an MCB is to switch the circuit, i.e., to open the circuit (which has been connected to it) automatically when the current passing through it (MCB) exceeds the value for which it is set. It can be manually switched ON and OFF as similar to normal switch if necessary.
The XML7C MCB Iron Core consits of mandril, plunger, ring skeleton, spring and static iron core.
During short circuit condition, the current rises suddenly, causing electromechanical displacement of plunger associated with a tripping coil or solenoid. The plunger strikes the trip lever causing immediate release of latch mechanism consequently open the circuit breaker contacts. This was a simple explanation of a miniature circuit breaker working principle.
The most important thing that Circuit Breaker is doing is to safely and reliably switches off electrical circuit during abnormal conditions of the network, that means over load condition as well as faulty condition.
